My homage to Cyd Charisse in “Bandwagon”

Here I present my homage to Cyd Charisse in “Bandwagon”, and the beautiful dress she wore in the film, an early 1950s style cocktail dress in beautiful emerald silk dupion with corded lace and shimmery net tulle overlay on the bodice and tulle overlay on the skirt. The sweetheart neckline features a lovely and very flattering illusion detail in tulle covering the bodice on the front and back. It also has 3/4 length sleeves and ballet length skirt that were very popular in the era. Fastens with a zipper at the back.

Early 1950s style lovely in original vintage cotton

This beautiful early 1950s inspired dress in original 1950s embroidered cotton is a great example of the more streamlined silhouette of the era. It features an interesting zigzag style panelling with a gathered yoke on the bodice and kick pleat down centre of the skirt. Short upturned sleeves, pockets with button closure. With vintage buttons and buckle. Fastens with a zip at side seam.

My homage to Bette Davis’ “All about Eve” dress

Here I present my homage to Edith Head and Bette Davis’ dress in All About Eve. This beautiful early 1950s style ballet length gown in pink/ orange shot silk dupion and nylon tulle creates the perfect silhouette for the belle of the ball. With a full skirt and fitted bodice, the greatest detail is in the off shoulder tulle gathered across, fastened by a diamanté brooch, creating a fantastic assymetrical, slightly illusion type effect. Added, half 3/4 length sleeves. Also with tulle belt across waist fastened by a brooch at the side. With zip fastening at the back.

Early 1950s inspired velvet cocktail dress

This delightful early 1950s inspired red velvet cocktail dress, slightly gathered at shoulders and with v-neckline both at the front and back and wide attached cummerbund belt, full skirt and 3/4 length sleeves with darts at elbows is a classic example of the dresses of the era. Zip closure at the back.
