This beautiful early 1930s style dress in navy viscose rayon crepe with lovely burnt orange silk crepe back satin shawl scarf style collar and wing details in sleeves scream all things 1930s in their art deco glory. The light brick coloured square bakelite buttons featured down the front of the bodice , the back of the gathered collar with a flap, and the sleeves with wing detailing in burnt orange silk create a fantastic contrast to the dark navy of the mid-calf length dress with a pleat down the centre seam and narrow long sleeves, creating a typical of silhouette of the era. The belt has a small vintage bakelite buckle. Fastening at the side seam with snap fasteners.

This beautiful long early 1930s style burgundy viscose crepe evening dress is a great example of the playfulness with details in that era. The slightly rounded and gathered under the bust shaped midriff, both front and back and the double cap style long bishop sleeves feature lovely hand sewn art deco style geometric original vintage antique gold metallic or lame ribbon embellishments, the sleeves especially very much echo the bold emphasis in the shoulder area that would become very popular toward the end of the decade. The short v neck has four tucks at the back. The midriff also features a cascading gathered section down in the middle towards the hem which has some reminiscence of the Grecian style. Fastens with snap fasteners at side seam.

Early 1930s style bow dress

Here’s a great example of the fondness of statement bows in dresses in the 1930s. The large bow in this early 1930s style dress in raised textured viscose tencel is part of the attached bias cut yoke which is folded to create a bow down the front of the bodice. The back also has a yoke cut on the bias. The puffed long bishop style sleeves have widish cuffs adorned with decorative fabric covered buttons. The dress fastens with snap fasteners at the side. The belt features a lovely square black bakelite buckle.

This beautiful summer dress in large polka dot viscose rayon with a statement white rayon crepe bow screams 1930s all over! It features butterfly sleeves and the very art deco style square panelling at the front and back of the skirt which also has kick pleats on both sides. Double darts at the front and back give a bit more shape to the dress. The bow fastens with a snap at the collar. Snap fastening at the side. The belt features a cream vintage bakelite buckle.
