An early 1940s darling

Here I present a lovely early 1940s inspired dress in original vintage floral rayon gathered bodice, front and back, collar and the skirt. The light brick coloured yokes and belt in viscose rayon add a great contrast. It features an original vintage bakelite buckle.

It also features fabric covered buttons down the front, padded shoulders and elbow length sleeves.

With zipper fastening.

Early 1940s inspired wool crepe afternoon dress

Here I present a beautiful early 1940s style burgundy wool crepe dress, featuring the very popular deep v neckline, ruched bodice and wide high waist, with decorative fabric covered buttons running down centre front. The bias cut a- line skirt and the long sleeves with padded shoulders make this the ultimate 1940s darling. Snap fastening at the side.

Early 1940s style wool crepe dress

This lovely early 1940s style wool crepe dress is a prime example of the silhouette of the era with its accentuated padded shoulder line, scalloped style yokes both front and back, and the geometric peaks on the flared skirt. The two stripey vintage buttons on the front yoke and the navy buckle add a great contrast, very popular in those times. Snap fasteners at the side.

1940s style “Mildred” revamped

This beautiful early 1940s style tea dress in original printed floral vintage silk is the new ” little sister” to “Mildred”, from my 1940s dress collection from 2017. With a slightly raised funnel neck on the front yoke and gathering around the bust ending in a rounded and very flattering high waist bias cut skirt this creates the lovely familiar silhouette of the era. The back closure has fabric covered buttons and the short padded sleeves are gathered to an interesting effect.
