Here’s a lovely early 1930s style sage green silk crepe satin bow dress that is another version of a one I made previously in brick coloured textured viscose tencel. This time the skirt of the dress is cut on the bias.
The bias cut front yoke which has been folded, creates a fabulous large statement bow down the front of the bodice which was very popular in the era. The back also has a yoke cut on the bias.
The long bishop style sleeves with puffy shoulders feature a series of narrow tucks, which were yet another distinguished feature in those times and with wide cuffs adorned with decorative fabric covered buttons. The dress fastens with snap fasteners at the side. The belt features a lovely square bakelite buckle.
