Early 1930s style burgundy viscose rayon crepe evening dress with hand sewn vintage antique gold metallic ribbon embellishments

This beautiful long early 1930s style burgundy viscose crepe evening dress is a great example of the playfulness with details in that era. The slightly rounded and gathered under the bust shaped midriff, both front and back and the double cap style long bishop sleeves feature lovely hand sewn art deco style geometric original vintage antique gold metallic or lame ribbon embellishments, the sleeves especially very much echo the bold emphasis in the shoulder area that would become very popular toward the end of the decade. The short v neck has four tucks at the back. The midriff also features a cascading gathered section down in the middle towards the hem which has some reminiscence of the Grecian style. Fastens with snap fasteners at side seam.
